A graduate of Florida State University, Bob entered law school to engage in the defense of those charged with crimes, and spent over 40 years so engaged. He was Senior Partner in the firm of Pope & Henninger, P.A. selling that practice in 2002, and thereafter became a sole practitioner. During his criminal defense career, Bob has tried hundreds of felony and misdemeanor jury trials, from First Degree Murder to simple assault. In the past three years, he has evolved his practice by joining forces with Ian Stanislaus Gómez to assist those injured in various types of accidents, and prides himself in providing competent and trustworthy services to assist his clients in regaining their health and wellbeing following traumatic injuries. He now serves Of Counsel with Gómez, Berman & Yanchuck, and P.L.L.C.
Bob has been actively involved in community projects, serving as President of Tampa Bay Arts, Vice Moderator of his church’s board of directors, as a board member of ASAP, one of the founders of Metro Wellness Center, and served on its board for many years, including as president. He was a founding member of the Gay Hotline, offering telephone messages of encouragement to youth in crisis.
Bob served as a Special Agent of the Counter Intelligent Corps of the Army, and was stationed in South Korea and Washington, D.C. He has also been employed as an Assistant Field Director of the American Red Cross, stationed at Ft. Bragg, N.C. He became the Director of Convention and Tourist, with the Florida Development Commission in Tallahassee, and then served as Director of the Tourist and Convention Sales with the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce.
